Sound One Co., Ltd. ("Company", "we", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Notice explains how we handle information in connection with the mobile application "Sound One Recorder GLB" ("Application").

1. About this Notice


This Privacy Notice applies to all users of the Application and governs use of its features and functionality. This Notice should be read together with the Terms of Use.
In this Privacy Notice, “Personal Information” means any information or data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such information or data. “User Data” means data generated within the Application that is processed exclusively on your device. The Company does not collect, access, receive, process, aggregate, modify, alter, or share or transmit such data.

2. Collection of Personal Information


The Application is designed so that its core functionalities (such as audio recording and measurement) operate offline on your device, without requiring user account registration with the Company.
All data generated or used within the Application, as listed below, is stored exclusively on your device. The Company does not collect, record, or store any such data on the Company's servers:
  • Audio data
  • Video data
  • Sensor measurement data
  • GPS location data

3. Use of Personal Information


Data processing for the Application's core functionalities (including audio recording, video recording, acoustic/signal measurement, screen display, and file playback) is performed entirely on your device. Please note that certain features, such as purchasing or restoring a subscription (Restore Purchase) and exporting or sharing data, are processed through Apple App Store systems or require an Internet connection based on your usage. The Company does not collect or retain personal information through the Application. Accordingly, the Company does not use personal information for marketing, analytics, advertising, profiling, product improvement, AI model training, or other commercial purposes.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information


We do not: ・Share or sell personal information (including as defined under applicable laws such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA)) ・Disclose information to advertisers, analytics providers, data processors, or marketing partners ・Transfer information to service providers or marketing partners
Accordingly, because all data is processed locally on your device and is not collected or retained by the Company, we do not possess or maintain personal information that can be disclosed, including in response to legal or regulatory requests. Data may be disclosed to third parties only if you export or share the data.
Every app downloaded from the Apple App Store may involve data collection, use, or disclosure governed by the respective platform’s privacy policies.

5. Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies


We do not use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers (such as IDFA), or any other tracking technologies. The Application does not include third-party analytics tools or advertising modules. No usage data is collected or transmitted to third parties.

6. Data Security


6.1 Company's Measures: The Company implements appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the Application, including designing the Application to process and store data entirely within your device.
6.2 User's Measures: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and data by implementing appropriate measures, including:
  • Setting a passcode or device screen lock (including biometric authentication, if used);
  • Regularly updating your operating system (iOS) and the Application to the latest versions; and
  • Exercising due care and verifying accuracy when exporting or sharing data with third parties.

7. Your Rights


Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or restrict the processing of your personal information.
For User Data stored locally on your device, the Company does not acquire, collect, or maintain such data on Company systems and therefore cannot access, correct, or erase data directly on your device. The management and deletion of User Data are entirely your responsibility and must be performed locally on your device. Uninstalling (deleting) the Application from your device will remove all local data associated with the Application, subject to your device's operation.
However, if you have contacted us (e.g., via our support email) and the Company holds your personal information, you may submit a request to exercise your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) by contacting us at support@sound-one.onosokki.co.jp as set forth in Section 13.

8. Exported Data and Third-Party Services


The Company does not manage, control, or monitor User Data once it is exported or shared outside the Application. The Company assumes no responsibility for any data exported or shared outside the Application.

9. Children's Privacy


The Application is not directed to, nor intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. As set forth in Section 4 of our Terms of Use, individuals under the age of 18 are strictly prohibited from downloading, accessing, or using the Application under any circumstances, even with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Accordingly, we do not knowingly collect, request, or store any Personal Information or User Data from individuals under the age of 18, nor do we require or process parental consent. If you believe Personal Information related to someone under the age of 18 has been inadvertently provided to us, please inform us immediately by emailing support@sound-one.onosokki.co.jp so that we may take appropriate action.

10. Notice to California Residents (CCPA/CPRA Compliance)


  • Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: The Company does not "sell" or "share" your personal data with third parties.
  • Requests for Access and Erasure: We are unable to comply with any requests to access, modify, disclose or erase personal data as no Personal Information or User Data is maintained on Company systems. All data generated through the Application is stored locally on the user’s device and is managed by the user.

11. Biometric Information


The Application performs local audio processing functions such as frequency measurement and waveform analysis and is not used for biometric identification or profiling of individuals. The Company does not acquire, collect, analyze, or store any biometric identifiers or biometric information. 

12. Changes to this Privacy Notice


We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Any revised version will be made available within the Application and will include an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Notice.

13.2 Handling of Personal Information Received via Inquiries
When you contact us via email, the Company may collect and process your personal information, such as your email address, name, and the contents of your inquiry.
  • Purpose of Use: To respond to your inquiries, provide technical support, and verify the identity of the inquirer.
  • Retention Period: The Company will retain such information for as long as necessary to fulfill your request or
as required by applicable laws.
  • Cross-Border Transfer and Service Providers: Your inquiry data will be transmitted to and stored on the
Company's systems in Japan, including secure email systems and cloud services utilized by the Company.
  • Exercise of Data Subject Rights: You may request to exercise your rights (e.g., access, correction, or erasure)
regarding such inquiry data under the DPDPA by contacting us at the email address specified above.
