Sound One Co., Ltd. ("Company", "we", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Notice explains how we handle information in connection with the mobile application "Sound One Recorder" ("Application").
1. About this Notice
This Privacy Notice applies to all users of the Application and governs use of its features and functionality. This Notice should be read together with the Terms of Use.
In this Privacy Notice, “Personal Information” means information that identifies or can reasonably be used to identify an individual, such as name, email address, or phone number. “User Data” means data generated within the Application that is processed exclusively on your device. The Company does not access, receive, or transmit such data.
2. Collection of Personal Information
The Application collects the following data:
- Audio data
- Video data
- Sensor measurement data
- GPS location data
The Application does not require account registration or user sign-in. It operates offline, and all collected data is processed and stored locally on the user’s device. The Application does not send or provide any collected data to the Company.
3. Use of Personal Information
We do not collect or retain personal information through the Application. Accordingly, we do not use personal information for marketing, analytics, advertising, profiling, product improvement, model training, or other commercial purposes. All Application functionality is performed entirely on the device.
4. Disclosure of Personal Information
We do not:
- Share or sell personal information (including as defined under applicable laws such as CCPA/CPRA)
- Disclose information to advertisers, analytics providers, data processors, or marketing partners
- Transfer information to service providers or marketing partners
Accordingly, because all data is processed locally on your device and is not collected or retained by the Company, we do not possess or maintain personal information that can be disclosed, including in response to legal or regulatory requests. Data may be disclosed to third parties only if you export or share the data.
Every app downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store may involve data collection, use, or disclosure governed by the respective platform’s privacy policies.
5. Use of Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We do not use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers (such as IDFA), or any other tracking technologies. The Application does not include third-party analytics tools or advertising modules. No usage data is collected or transmitted to third parties.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures. You are responsible for implementing and maintaining adequate security measures including secure browsers, screen locks, passcodes, biometric authentication, and ensure your devices are protected with appropriate endpoint security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict personal information.
However, we do not maintain personal information that is subject to access, correction, deletion, or portability rights under applicable law. The management and deletion of User Data are entirely your responsibility and must be performed locally on your device. By uninstalling (deleting) the Application from your device, subject to the operation of your device, all local data associated with the Application will be removed.
8. Exported Data and Third-Party Services
The Company does not manage, control, or monitor User Data once it is exported or shared outside the Application. The Company assumes no responsibility for any data exported or shared outside the Application.
9. Children's Privacy
The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, request, or store any Personal Information or User Data from children. If you believe Personal Information related to someone under 13 has been provided to us, please inform us immediately by emailing support@sound-one.onosokki.co.jp.
10. Notice to California Residents (CCPA/CPRA Compliance)
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information:
- The Company does not "sell" or "share" your personal information with third parties.
- Requests to Know and Delete:
- We are unable to comply with any requests to access, modify, disclose or delete personal information as no user data is maintained on Company systems. All data generated through the Application is stored locally on the user’s device and is managed by the user.
11. Biometric Information
The Application performs local audio processing functions such as frequency measurement and waveform analysis and is not used for biometric identification or profiling of individuals. The Company does not acquire, collect, analyze, or store any biometric identifiers or biometric information.
12. Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Any revised version will be made available within the Application and will include an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Notice.
